Pics & Video of the Moonlight Walk

This year’s Moonlight Walk turned out to be another successful one! We want to thank each one of you who made this possible, and would like to share some pictures with you.

Wow! What gorgeous landscapes! Makes a person wish that would be in their yard! The video below has a number of testimonials of people who went on the tour.

Here is another testimony from a customer:

We really enjoyed the Outdoor Living Tour last evening – All were different and we were always anxious to see the next property. Each was special and spectacular and had something that made it different. Loved all the waterfalls, especially as we are all Discovery Garden volunteers and are so happy with “our” waterfall. We especially enjoyed meeting your designer and seeing all the features of his home – also great to talk to him and his wife. He is a very talented young man.
We were somewhat disappointed as we went to the last two properties shortly before 10:00 PM and found they were not open for viewing. I registered online and used the Tour Book which listed time as 5:00 PM - 10:30 PM. Times were different in your newsletter which I received in the mail and on website. I’m sure you will address that for future years. Mrs Leighty was nice enough to tell us we could come back this week to see their property in daylight. ~Nancy Fogel

Thanks again to all of you for making this a go. We look forward to the next one already! Come see us soon!

Moonlight Walk Comin’ Up!

Hello, Friends! Since the Moonlight Walk was such a big success last year, we decided to offer it again this year. This will be taking place this Saturday, July 21, from 5:00 PM-10:30 PM. There are a total of eight places on the list including TMMLC, and, just like last year, Chef Eten will be here making pizza in our outdoor pizza ovens. Tickets are $10 a couple or $18 for a carload, and all proceeds will go to the ARC of Blair County.

Several testimonies from last year’s tour:

“I loved the Moonlight Walk tour. I got so many great ideas for my pool area. Thank you!”                   ~Chris Gojmerac, Roaring Spring, PA

“Thank you, Tussey Mtn., for the enjoyable moonlight tour of various ponds in our area. Each was unique in their own way. And thank you to all the kind people who opened their homes for us to see their ponds. We will be looking forward to your next tour. Thank you!”                ~The Carusos, Williamsburg, PA

Thank you for a beautiful evening. I really enjoyed the food and the Pond Tour- so many pleasant feelings!!! Thank you for doing what you do. You are an asset to the community!                   ~Patty Glunt, East Freedom, PA

Beauty of Hydrangeas

Who can resist the glorious beauty of hydrangeas? There’s a good reason they’re called the “Endless Summer” Hydrangea: these showy bushes will brighten your landscape with their stunning blossoms all summer long. Blue, pink, purple… you get to choose your color! Hydrangea blossoms are colored according to the ph level of the soil they are planted in. Just apply aluminum sulfate before they bloom for blue blossoms, while lime added to the soil will turn them pink. To have a happy, healthy hydrangea, plant it in an area that receives dappled shade. Hydrangea bushes can grow to a considerable side, up to 6 feet high and wide, or maybe even bigger. You can imagine the impressive show such a bush would create. But don’t worry, if such a big shrub would be a tight squeeze for the spot you have in mind for it, they can be pruned, no problem. So… go ahead! Plant a hydrangea bush! The show it will put on for you next summer will be sensational!

‘Twas a Great Weekend!

Thanks to you all, we had an awesome weekend together for our Customer Appreciation Days. Friday especially was a scorcher, but we were blessed to see so many of our friends showing up for the campfire that evening. We were all thankful when Saturday dawned sunny but cooler. Once again, we were blessed with a lot of support from our friends. Below are some pictures showing a few of the highlights experienced over the weekend.

Leonard & Tim did a fantastic job on the chicken!

With 20% off all plants, the greenhouse area drew a lot of attention

Mmmm! More of Chef Eten’s scrumptious pizza baked in the outdoor pizza oven!

There was a Win-a-Fish Rock Toss for the children

Choosing their fish after doing the rock toss

As you can see, there were a lot of fun things happening around here last weekend. Once again, we want to thank each one of you for making this another successful weekend, and we look forward to working with you in the future!
