Outdoor Living Spaces Tour

The Outdoor Living Spaces Tour “Moonlight Walk” gives you the opportunity to view some of the nicest landscaping creations in our area at night. Stroll through these landscapes at dusk and see what landscape lighting can bring to your backyard. Whether you are looking for ideas to put into your own back yard, or if you would just like a relaxing evening enjoying the sights of beautiful backyard living spaces, this tour is worth signing up for!

Landscape lighting design is far more than just putting in a few lights; it is a fine art that transforms your nighttime experience. A well designed and installed lighting system is an investment that rewards you every night for years to come. In all of what we call Nature, the moon stands apart. It is the full moon that ignites our passion for light. It is the full moon that we, as designers, strive to recreate. We sincerely want the homeowner to feel the same feelings that the real moon brings in its romantic fullness.

This tour will be happening Saturday, September 14 from 10 am to 10 pm. Here at Tussey Mountain Mulch, we will have our pizza ovens fired up and baking pizza from 5 pm to 10 pm. We hope to see you here!

The Moonlight Walk Tour was a great experience to allow us to share our landscape project and our experience with Tussey Landscaping with others who are interested in outdoor living areas. It was wonderful knowing that the proceeds for the event went to a great charity like the Arc of Blair County!              ~Brent & Cris Leighty, Newry, PA

We went on the Moonlight Tour and what a beautiful night it was.  Tussey Landscape does such beautiful work.  It is like walking into God’s country.  They did a paver patio for us and we just love it on Winterberry Lane in James Creek.                  ~Dave & Nancy Baughman, James Creek,PA

We enjoyed every second of the tour, really wished for more time, time to enjoy the flowers and rocks at each place and then time to go back and see the lighting at our favorite one perhaps. Perfect weather – the whole evening was wonderful – enjoyed talking to several homeowners – made the evening even more special. Thanks again!                                              ~Margie Harclerode, Bedford, PA

DIY Project-Matt Zunich

One of our loyal customers, Matt Zunich from Portage, PA, opens up his backyard to show how a backyard can be transformed into a beautiful retreat and entertainment area. The amazing part is that he did this all with his own two hands! Matt, you did a great job. Thanks for your business.

This is a Firerock fireplace covered with EP Henry Adirondack Ledgestone. Mr. Zunich added woodboxes to the side with Techo-bloc York cap.

This outdoor kitchen is constructed with a Junior Series RCS grill, an Eldorado kitchen box, and EP Henry Adirondack Ledgestone, matching the fireplace.

This raised patio has a Old Towne Cobble Circle Kit for the patio, with double sided Imperial Wall.

Watch the video below to see the entire project and hear his comments.

This summer Mr. Zunich added another component to his backyard retreat-a pondless waterfall. Once again he did it from start to finish with his own hard work and ingenuity! Check out the pictures.

Summer 2013 Backyard Makeover

Here at Tussey Mountain Mulch we believe that there are 7 P’s that are part of the personal paradise. A patio makes a pleasing addition to any backyard. Whether you want to party with your friends or just park by the fire pit and roast some marshmallows, that patio would be the place to do it. It would be pleasant to have some poly furniture on which to repose and watch the purpling sky. Oh and wouldn’t it be perfect to have a pavilion or pergola to eat under? A pond and/or waterfall would add the peaceful sounds of water to your backyard retreat. Of course no paradise is complete without plants. You could even put some of them in pots and place them on your patio to enjoy them better. So there you have it Patio, Pits, Poly furniture, Pavilion and Pergola, Pond, Plants, and Pots. Your personal paradise is prepared.

Create a Perfect Paradise – with Pottery

While pottery may not be the main focus of your personal paradise, it can be a stunning accent, bringing about the ‘wow factor’ to an otherwise desolate patio. Options are numerous-from small trees to colorful flower combinations to herb gardens. A topiary evergreen in a classy pot adds some elegance to any outdoor living space, while a large pot overflowing with blooming flowers brings life to a bare corner of a patio. What could be better than having a container garden bursting with fresh herbs right outside your doorstep, ready to pinch and add to some savory concoction in your kitchen?

Stop by here at Tussey Mtn Mulch to see our collection of pottery of all sizes and colors. You just might find a piece of pottery and some ideas to incorporate into your own backyard retreat!
